Victoria Azarenka targets Wimbledon on return after birth of her son

THE Wimbledon Tennis 2017 has kicked off at Roland Garros. Today’s big matches include Andy Murray v Andrey Kuznetsov, Nick Kyrgios v Philipp Kohlschreiber, Johanna Konta v Su-Wei Hsieh and Eugenie Bouchard v Risa Ozaki. The biggest clay court tournament of the year will see Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Sir Andy Murray vying for the Coupe des Mousquetaires.Nadal and Djokovic have already won their first round matches - and the world number one Murray will take to Phillipe-Chatrier today.

The top seed will be playing Andrey Kuznetsov, a former Wimbledon junior champion.

Murray would have been hoping to avoid a first round shock after a disappointing clay court season so far and poor form so far this year.

Murray has played Kuznetsov twice - beating him on both occassions but this is the first time the pair have played on clay courts.

He came through the tricky first-round match in four sets to win 6-4 4-6 6-2 6-0.

If Murray manages to navigate his way through the draw and into the second week he could face a potential semi-final clash against former French Open champion and world number three Stan Wawrinka.

However, he will have to get past a tough potential third round clash against former US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro.

While the world number one is only just beginning his Wimbledon Tennis 2017 Live campaign, his compatriot Johanna Konta is out after losing a first round match against Su-Wei Hsieh which went to three sets.

While earlier in the day Nick Kyrgios defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets.The third day of Roland Garros will also see Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Alexander Zverev, Fernando Verdasco, Gael Monfils and Kei Nishikori take to the court of the men’s side.
